Available now on Beta, This feature is in beta testing and will roll out to everyone soon.
What is this?
The Export Center sends finalized dailies to payroll or your accounting system. You pick an export format, a date range and the dailies. CLUE shows which days already went out. Exported dailies lock, so the numbers stay the same.
Who's this for?
- Payroll, who send hours to the payroll system each week.
- Project managers, who send job costs to accounting.
How to use it
Step 1: Open the Export Center
Go to Operations > Dailies. Click the Export icon at the top right.
Step 2: Review the dailies
The Export Center lists each daily with its date, project, crew, hours and status. Last exported shows Never for a daily that has not gone out.
Step 3: Choose the export format
Click Choose export format and pick the format for your system.
Step 4: Pick the date range
Click Select Date. Pick Day, Week, Month, Year or Custom.
Step 5: Select the dailies and export
Tick the dailies you want. The count shows at the bottom. Click Export.
Step 6: Send only what is new
The box Only send what this export has not sent yet is ticked when the Export Center opens. Keep it ticked. When you export a daily again, the file has only the rows that your system does not have yet.
Step 7: Find exported dailies
On the list, click Status and tick Exported. These dailies are locked.
Step 8: Export from the list
You can also tick dailies on the list. Click Export in the bar at the bottom.
Step 9: Check per diem in the file
When your company uses per diem, pick a labor export format and select the dailies. The bottom line shows how many per diem rows go in the file. A red line shows the per diem that cannot go in the file, and why.

The full details
- Only send what this export has not sent yet: Ticked by default. The file has only the rows that this export did not send before.
- Nothing outstanding: Clue shows this message when this export already sent every row of the dailies that you picked. Clue sends no file.
- Send all rows again: Clear the box. The file then has all the rows of the dailies that you picked.
- Crew and hours: The crew count is the same as on the Dailies list, in the calendar view of the Hours tab and in the Daily Report panel. The hours include temporary crew members.
- Weekly overtime: Clue counts the full week of each person, also the hours sent in an earlier export. See Overtime Rules in Exports.
- Not approved yet: A daily that is not approved cannot be selected.
- Finalize before exporting?: Shows when your selection has dailies that are not finalized.
- Finalize and export: Finalizes those dailies, then exports them all.
- Export the N finalized: Exports only the dailies that are already finalized.
- Some crew are not in the system yet: People with no user record are left out of the export.
- Export without them: Exports everything else in the selection.
- Exported: The daily is locked. Crew hours cannot change.
- Change an exported daily: To change materials, tools and equipment, the role needs Edit materials, tools and equipment after submit and Overwrite exported. See Approving Dailies.
- Comments on an exported daily: To add or change a line comment, the role needs Overwrite exported.
- Per diem: Added per diem goes in a labor export as its own rows. Suggestions do not go in the file. See Per Diem on Dailies.
- Per diem not in the file: For example, per diem for a person with no employee code. The red line in the Export Center tells you the reason.
- Dailies not sent: With Only send what this export has not sent yet, a daily is not sent when the only part it still owes is per diem that cannot go in the file.
Tips

- Check Last exported before you send a day again.
- Clear Only send what this export has not sent yet only when your system must get all the rows again.
- To get an Excel or CSV file of the list or of the job cost by phase, use the Download icon on the Dailies list. See The Dailies Page.
